'A love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies'

GERTRUDE JEKYLL

Following a stressful and busy career in the fashion industry, I re-trained in garden and plant design at Capel Manor College. I changed my career to something I felt really passionate about, and there is nothing better than sharing my passion with others. I offer a bespoke, personal and collaborative service to my clients. Listening to your needs, aspirations and budget, I will create beautiful planting schemes and garden design concepts that match your lifestyle and interests, whilst remaining in tune with the natural surroundings.

I love to blend colours, textures and forms to create a seamless tapestry of nature. A garden is a living canvas, influencing the senses – a creative and inspirational space.

Positioning the plants ready for planting

Working and being in a garden releases happy hormones. It is a good way to have a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Gardening has been shown to lower cortisol levels, which is the hormone related to stress. Spending time in a garden can help you to feel more relaxed, which can improve your overall mood and well-being.

No matter how big or small your outside space is, there is a way of creating a garden to help you to connect with nature and have your own space. As Alice Sebold said "I like gardening – it's a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself."

I also run the village allotments and only use natural defences for plants and vegetables. Everything grown is organic! There is nothing like freshly picked veg – the taste is out of this world!

My design studio is based in Birchanger, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. Most of my design projects are based in Essex and Herts. I would love to help you transform your outside space. From a bed or border to a full garden, no project is too big or too small.
