Garden Designer in Hertfordshire
Beautiful, thoughtful gardens designed around real life
From new-build gardens and family gardens to renovation and extension projects, I create outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and practical.
Whether you're moving into a new property, extending your home or looking to transform an existing garden, thoughtful design can help make the most of the space available and create a garden that feels connected to the way you live.

I'm Zoe Kilbride, a garden designer working across Hertfordshire, helping homeowners transform new-build gardens, family gardens and outdoor spaces that have evolved alongside home extensions and renovations.
Whether you're looking to transform a newly built garden, refresh an established space or create a garden that complements a home extension, every design is shaped around your lifestyle, your property and the way you want to use the garden.
Every project begins with understanding how you live and what you want from the space. The most successful gardens are not just beautiful to look at; they work effortlessly for everyday life.
My work ranges from town gardens and new-build plots; through to large family gardens and planting-focused projects. I also work alongside builders who are carrying our extensions, renovations or refurbishments. Each garden is designed to suit the property, its setting and the people who use it.

Garden design for new-build homes, extensions and renovations projects
Many of my clients come to me after moving into a new-build property or completing a major home renovation.
New-build gardens often begin as a blank canvas. While this can feel daunting at first, it also presents an exciting opportunity to create an outdoor space that is tailored to the way you live. Whether the garden is large or small, thoughtful design can help bring structure, privacy, character and year-round interest to the space.
I also work with homeowners who are extending or renovating their properties. A new extension can completely change the relationship between the house and the garden. Patio areas may no longer be the right size, views may have changed and the existing layout often no longer works as well as it once did.
By considering the house and garden together, it's possible to create an outdoor space that feels like a natural continuation of the home rather than an afterthought.
Whether you're working with a small new-build plot, a large family garden or a property undergoing significant renovation, thoughtful garden design can help unlock the full potential of the space.

How I can help
Garden Design Consultations
If you're not sure where to start, a garden design consultation can be an excellent first step. We'll walk around your garden together, discuss ideas, solve problem areas and explore ways to make the space work better for you.
Many clients find a consultation gives them the confidence and clarity they need to move forward with their project, whether that's working with a landscaper or progressing to a full garden design. Find out more about garden design consultations here.
Full Garden Design
For larger projects, I offer a complete garden design service covering layout, materials, levels, features and planting. The result is a detailed design that provides a clear roadmap for transforming your garden. Read about the garden design process here.
Planting Design
Planting is often what brings a garden to life. I create tailored planting plans designed around your garden's conditions, style and maintenance requirements, helping to provide colour, structure and interest throughout the year. For more information on planting design, click here.
